We are raising the bar on doula services in Toronto!
Toronto Family Doulas has always had a commitment to bringing you the most comprehensive services in the GTA. We have prided ourselves on well-trained and supportive doulas, ready to respond to your needs. Now we are taking that even further.
Not only are our doulas trained and certified, but all our other services are as well!
Our birth doulas, postpartum doulas, postpartum placenta encapsulators, and even our childbirth educators are all trained and either certifying or already certified before they provide you with service. We only send doulas who are trained in the area of service they are providing, and that now includes childbirth education.
Being a doula isn’t enough, a childbirth educators role is different. It is the job of the educator to teach you not only about the physiology of birth, but also about common medical procedures and when they might be performed. That is why we require our educators to complete an extensive, and intensive, exam, and certify as an educator through ProDoula’s CBE program.
In fact, our own Meaghan Grant is the first person ever to be certified in all four programs that ProDoula offers. Her commitment as an owner of Toronto Family Doulas is to ensure that your experience exceeds your expectations. We believe that our commitment to training ensures that.
Even more exciting is our new childbirth education curriculum! Also produced by ProDoula, this is the first curriculum produced by an internationally recognized certification organization that is uniquely Canadian and based on our health care model.
An exciting announcement!
As part of our ongoing commitment to setting a new standard in Toronto, we are announcing the return of group prenatal classes! We will be offering two different educational models. A three-week evening class, or a one-day weekend intensive class. These will be offered in alternating months, beginning in October and located in mid-town. As always, our private classes are also available!
